PDO COG Threads  – Facial Rejuvenation, Contouring and Lift

PDO (Polydioxanone) COG Threads are a revolutionary development in Aesthetic Medicine and an increasingly popular non-invasive, non-surgical option for treating sagging skin. Threads provide a longer-lasting result than treatments such as dermal filler and anti-wrinkle injections.

Threads can be used to lift and contour the face and are a highly effective and safe method of repositioning sagging tissues and stimulating collagen that improves skin texture, fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation marks and elasticity for a firmer, brighter and tighter look.

Threads are made of dissolvable material (similar to surgical stitches) with small hooks along the thread; these tiny hooks bond with the skin and help to lift sagging skin. As the thread dissolves in the skin, it creates new collagen in its place. The impressive lifting results of this treatment are natural and long-lasting.

How Does It Work?

PDO threads are inserted in your skin by a cannula or needle. Once the thread reaches its end point, it is anchored, released and the cannula or needle will be removed. The thread remains under the skin where it helps to encourage collagen stimulation which will lift the skin. The anchoring instantly lifts and tightens sagging skin.

The practitioner might repeat the process multiple times to achieve the right lift, which means anywhere from 10-20 threads might be inserted.

The thread naturally dissolves into carbon dioxide and water after a few months stimulating collagen development.

This revolutionary technology allows instant yet profound results while minimizing pain & trauma – allowing patients to benefit from a shorter recovery time and providing an alternative for those who may not be ready for surgery or request a non-surgical option.

It is important to note that threads will naturally dissolve in the skin and will disappear after around 6 months, leaving natural collagen in their place.

It is important that you are available for follow-up after treatment, so we recommend not to book this treatment if you are travelling in the next two weeks.

  • Direct Sun Exposure; wear Spf 30 or higher
  • Facial massages
  • Excess stretching of your mouth
