Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy in Central London

Mesotherapy is a treatment that uses micro injections to deliver a blend of different ingredients to the skin. These ingredients include vitamins, minerals, amino acids, hyaluronic acid, enzymes, antioxidants and plant extracts (homeopathic based medicines). Often referred to as a ’Skin Cocktail’, this infusion of nourishing ingredients helps to rehydrate and reinvigorate the skin.

Mesotherapy can be a great first step into aesthetics treatments to treat sluggish skin, fine lines, pigmentation, dull complexions, aging skin and past trauma including sun damage and acne scarring. It is also the natural and vegan blend of ingredients being used which appeals to many of our patients.

How Does It Work?

Mesotherapy is often administered using a special injector gun that inserts the needle into the skin quickly and relatively painlessly. The injector is moved along the skin to deliver small droplets of mesotherapy liquid beyond the skin barrier, directly to the cells of the skin. It works in two ways:

  1. Delivering these active substances and vital nutrients directly to the area in need (the middle layer of your skin, the mesoderm)
  2. Gently disrupting the skins repair process via micro injections encouraging a surge of youthful collagen to rebuild the skin.

Can It Be Used in Combination With Other Treatments?

Yes, softening wrinkle treatments, such as dermal fillers and botulinum toxin, can complement Mesotherapy wonderfully. While the Mesotherapy nourishes the skin underneath, the softening wrinkle treatments will work on appearing lines and volume that you have lost over the years.

Mesotherapy with anti wrinkle treatment as an ingredient is what many people call “Baby Botox” or “Micro Botox”.

Frequently Asked Questions

Of course – Dr Michel Pistor devised Mesotherapy in 1952, and its ingredients are natural and harmless to the body.

Given its natural ingredients, Mesotherapy does require repeat appointments. Depending on your individual, skin and lifestyle factors, as well as the specific treatments, a regimen of 1-2 treatments per week are required for the first 4-8 weeks. Maintenance thereafter can occur every 3 months, roughly. As with anything, a healthy lifestyle accompanied by a well-balanced diet, regular exercise and keeping your body hydrated will help prolong the results.

Acne

We can help improve acne issues and improve overall skin appearance. Introducing anti-oxidants to your skin to fight free radicals!

Eyes

Mesotherapy can significantly improve the colour of dark circles under the eyes, by providing intense hydration and nutrition.

Rejuvenation

Mesotherapy involves a technique that uses repeated microinjections to introduce vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants into the middle layer of your skin (the mesoderm).

Microneedling

All forms of acne scars, most surgical scars including facelift scars, abdominal scars, breast plastic operation, post liposuction scars, orthopedic scars, stretch marks and burn contracture scars can safely be treated.

The fine needles are rolled over the scar tissue enabling the break down and stimulation of the skin cells, helping them proliferate and heal themselves. Microneedling acne treatment is proven to boost collagen and elastin formation by improving the blood supply. This device is developed on the principles of neo-collagenesis and neo-angiogenesis, both of which enable the skin to better absorb acne skin care products used post treatment.

Microneedling is able to treat fine lines and wrinkles around eyes, mouth, cheeks, neck, and décolleté. Other areas of the body can also be treated such as the abdomen, back of the hands and arms. However, the most commonly treated area with needling is the face, for skin rejuvenation. Using a variety of needle lengths we are able to treat different depths and affect different concerns on the skin.

Rollers with longer needles are used on more difficult problems such as acne scarring, deep ingrained wrinkles around the mouth, burn contractures and surgical scars, whereas shorter needles are used for general rejuvenation.

The only type of scars on which Skin Needling would not have a positive result, is keloidal scar tissue. Skin Needling cannot be performed on any active inflammatory condition including active, inflamed acne.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is also known as Collagen Induction Therapy. It is a minimally invasive, non-surgical procedure for skin rejuvenation.

What can Microneedling be used to treat?

Microneedling can be used to treat scars and stimulate skin rejuvenation. It also promotes improved skin texture, firmness, and hydration.

In conjunction with other treatments, Microneedling can also be used to minimise large pores, treat alopecia/hair loss, and aid in the penetration of active ingredients.

How does Microneedling work?

Microneedling involves a device that creates controlled skin injury that, in turn, help the skin help itself.

Small needles are used to cause tiny punctures to the skin, stimulating the body to create a wound healing response and renew the skin, with collagen and elastin.

Is it safe?

Yes, as the epidermis remains intact, the procedure can be repeated safely and is also suited to regions where laser treatments and deep peels are not typically performed.

Does it hurt?

Although the needles puncture the dermis layer of your skin, it will not damage it in any way. It is normal for the area treated to be a little sensitive once commenced, and you may experience some redness. You will be advised of any necessary after care instructions, if need be.

How long do the effects last?

For optimal results, we typically suggest you have four to eight sessions, spaced four to six weeks apart. However, individual needs and results will vary.

After the course of treatment is completed, collagen growth continues for up to year after your last needling session. It is, therefore, advised that you have ‘top up’ session during the year to continue the collagen stimulation.
